To maintain the cleanliness of your eyeliner, it is essential to refrain from touching it with unwashed hands. Touching the eyeliner or eyes with unclean hands can lead to a potential secondary infection. In the unfortunate event of an infection, applying a topical antibiotic may unintentionally pull colour from your fresh eyeliner tattoo. Therefore, it is advised to avoid using any topical antibiotic on your new eyeliner unless you are almost certain of an infection. In such cases, please consult your doctor promptly for further guidance and assistance.
During the healing process of permanent makeup, there are several stages to be aware of. In the first week, the eyeliner may appear too dark due to oxidization and the presence of pigment on the skin's surface. It may also feel tender and itchy, but it's important not to pick or peel at it. Applying olive oil or Vaseline can alleviate itchiness. Create your own ice gel pack by filling a small ziplock bag with ice cubes and placing it inside a larger bag filled with water. Apply the ice pack to the eye area for 5 minutes, then take a break of 10-15 minutes. Repeat this process as needed. Remember to use a fresh bag each time you put the ice pack back in the freezer before applying it to the skin.
The touch-up session for your eyeliner typically occurs between 5 to 8 weeks after the initial procedure. The exact timing depends on factors such as age, bleeding factor, sensitivity level, and availability. The duration of the touch-up session can range from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on the extent of the required enhancements. During this session, reasonable adjustments can be made to the eyeliner, such as elongating it, making it darker, or slightly lighter, or widening/thickening it as desired.
